Architecture Application Case Study

I am mentoring students right now that are during producing work for their applications to architecture school.

One student had created a large painting made from hand-painted tiles. Rather than moving on to a new project, we explored what would happen if it was taken apart and rearranged into several smaller compositions. We also discussed how the original concept could inspire an entire series of related work.

One project could become five or more.

This is one of the biggest mindsets shifts in creative development. Students often think they need more ideas. The strongest creative packages usually come from exploring one great idea in multiple ways.

Good ideas have legs. Don't be too quick to leave a good idea behind. It may have much more to give.
